Tournament

Chennaiyin FCā€™s U-10 Invitational League Tournament, an initiative of the Chennaiyin FC, flagged off on May 20,2017 and concluded on June 1, 2017. The focus was to identify talented Kids with promise and provide them with additional Training by working with these children for Chennaiyin Center of Excellence talent hunt program. The league tournament, which was supported by Slum Children Steads (who were also the Ground Partners), was played by 11 Teams.

The tournament was inaugurated by, Chief Operating Officer and the Technical Director of Grassroots Division of the Chennaiyin FC.

It was a 5 v 5 league Tournament which had 8 players out of which 3 of them were rolling substitutes for each team. The Total game duration was 20 minutes with each half constituting 8 minutes and a 4-minute half time break. The Tournament was dominated by SPFA Green, Villivakkam who went on to win the league undefeated and scoring a whooping 39 goals in their 10 games.

The Winners Trophy was handed over to SPFA Green, Villivakkam by COO, while SC STEDS finished 2nd in the league and received the Runners Up Trophy from the club Technical Director

Trophies were also handed to the Best Player of the Tournament to Master Rajesh from SSP FC, Emerging Player of the Tournament was awarded to Master Benitto of ADP ICF, Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament was awarded to Master Yoga of Br.Anthony Sigmamani & the highest Goal scorer of the Tournament was given to Master Roshan of SPFA Green.

The fair play award was given to ADP.ICF team.

Certificates & Medals were given to all the children who participated in the Tournament as a token of appreciation for their fighting spirit for their respective academies during the games.
